Goodwill of Greater Washington is a nonprofit organization focused on improving the lives of individuals by providing job training, employment opportunities, and other essential services to people facing barriers to employment. Through its network of retail stores, vocational training programs, and community outreach initiatives, Goodwill helps individuals build skills, gain work experience, and secure stable jobs. The organization also offers programs for veterans, youth, and individuals with disabilities, promoting economic independence and social inclusion. Goodwill of Greater Washington’s Education and Workforce Development program has served more than 1,400 individuals in the DC Metro area who face multiple barriers to self-sufficiency, including: limited work experience, limited education. This work addresses the racial income gap and unemployment disparity that results from systemic inequalities perpetuated by lack of opportunity.
